Thoughts aloud…

Today I was standing in a breadline. For 15 minutes, or even for 20. But the bread was warm, though. However, when I brought a long loaf home there were only warm memories about its warmth left. As warm as memories about old ladies and gentlemen who kept me company in line. There was only one young couple who were going to buy a form for pizza. The rest were passing by, to all appearances, to buy cold bread without standing in line.
