Description of the sight
The house-ship is one of the main attractions of the city, its hallmark. The building is located at the intersection of streets, has a narrowed facade, reminiscent of the prow of a ship, an open area on the second floor, similar to the deck and a tower above the roof, resembling a mast or a pipe. A legend is connected with the construction of the building, which tells about two brothers who loved the sea. In their old age, they decided to live together in a house that looked like a ship. After a long search for a suitable location, they erected a house here at the intersection of the streets. The house resembled a ship and was decorated with appropriate details. A fountain in the shape of a lion's head was installed in the bow, and the walls of the building were decorated with sculptures of dolphins and algae. Presumably, the house was built at the end of the 19th century.
