Description of the sight
The urban-type settlement of Vorokhta will be of interest to tourists who are fond of sports themselves and follow the events in the sports world. As a tourist and sports center, Vorokhta has been developing since the end of the 19th century. The name of the village dates back to the 17th century. It is said that a runaway soldier from the tsarist army appeared in an unnamed settlement. He was very wise and fell in love with the locals, who went to him for various advice. After his death, they named the village Vorokhta, after the name of a sage soldier. From the historical sights here you can see the wooden Church of the Nativity of the Virgin built in the 17th century, an example of Hutsul architecture, and viaducts - railway bridges in the form of arches of the late 19th century.
