Description of the sight

In 1975, one of the world's largest dioramas dedicated to the victory of the Soviet people in the Great Patriotic War was opened in the Dnieper. The diorama "Battle for the Dnieper" is the center of a huge memorial that tells about the heroes and events of the Second World War. The famous military artist Grekov M.B. took part in the creation of the diorama. and the great masters of art of the USSR Butom N.Ya. and Ovechkin N.V. The diorama is a large one-piece canvas 14 meters wide and 60 meters long, which is located in a huge exhibition hall in a building specially built for this purpose. The well-known architect in the Soviet Union V.A. Zuev was involved in the construction project. The diorama is a model of defensive structures, there are also real weapons and elements of military paraphernalia. With the help of special lighting and sound, the effect of the reality of the events taking place is created in the diorama hall. In front of the entrance to the exhibition hall there is a composition of military equipment from the Great Patriotic War: tanks, cannons, artillery weapons, howitzers and much more.
