Description of the sight
The Armenian well, an architectural monument of the 17th century, is an octagonal pavilion located near the city hall. It has the nickname "monument of corruption", associated with the history of the appearance of the well. It currently houses an exhibition hall. The history of the construction of the well is connected with the rich Armenian Narzes, who allocated money for the construction of a water pipe in the city. Most of the money was stolen, and a well was dug for the remaining funds, 40-50 meters deep. But it turned out that the water in it was too salty and unsuitable for drinking. The well was closed and for a long time the pavilion on the well was used as a warehouse. Now the pavilion is preserved as a monument of history and architecture.
