Description of the sight
The Krivoy Rog Botanical Garden of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine was founded about 30 years ago, on the territory that once belonged to the Taras Shevchenko collective farm. Since then, every year the collections of Kryvyi Rih botanists have been expanding, acquiring more and more new varieties of ornamental plants. There is something to see in the botanical garden at any time of the year. You can come here in spring, summer, autumn, and even winter. More than four thousand plants from different parts of the world have found their home here in Krivoy Rog, and the collection of trees and shrubs is classified as the National Treasure of Ukraine. Several hundred more plant species grow here, which are rare and endangered today and which are listed in the Red List of Dnepropetrovsk region, the World and Europe, the Red Book of Ukraine. Since the area of the garden is large and measured in kilometers, here you can arrange something like a small hike, or take a walk in the park area, and someone prefers to lie all day on the grass. It is best here in the spring, when everything around blooms and amazes with a riot of colors and aromas.
