Route / how do i get there:
The Lutheran Church is located near the city center, a 15-minute walk from Theater Square. To get to it from Lubart's castle, walk straight ahead for about 5 minutes. It is worth saying that at the time of entering the information there is a certain discrepancy: the Google Maps service indicates the address of the church as st. Karaimskaya, 16, but Wikipedia has a different address: st. Lutheranskaya, 1. Perhaps it arose due to the fact that the temple is located at the crossroads of two streets.
Description of the sight
The Lutheran Church in Lutsk is an architectural monument of the city, originally a Lutheran, and now a Baptist church. It is located on Lutheranskaya Street, 1 - in the historical and cultural reserve. The construction of the temple was completed in 1906; it served for the German colonists of Volhynia. However, after the collapse of the USSR, the church was handed over to the Baptist community, who began its restoration. Now the silhouette of this cathedral plays an important aesthetic and compositional significance in the life of Lutsk. The Lutheran church is made in neo-Gothic style of brick, it is not plastered. The building is faced with high quality yellow clinker bricks. Bricks of various profiles were used for exterior details, and bricks from the Carmelite church were used for the interior masonry of the walls. This is a single-nave building with a high bell tower located above the entrance. The interior is traditionally endowed with a vestibule, a nave, there are choirs and apses. Near the altar there is a preaching pulpit on a dais. The altar has the structure of an amphitheater. The outer entrance looks like a perspective portal ending with a round pediment. A sacristy is attached to the apse. If you look up, you can see the growth of pointed volumes. A high bell tower with a spire completes the overall panorama of the Old Town.
