Description of the sight
Arena Lviv is the central stadium of the city of Lviv. It hosts football matches of the Ukrainian Premier League and from time to time matches of the Ukrainian national team. The stadium opened in 2011. It was built specifically for the Euro 2012 football championship. The entire cost of construction amounted to more than 211 million euros. The stadium can accommodate more than 34 thousand fans. But, in connection with the desire of Ukraine to host the Winter Olympics in 2022, the stadium can become its main arena, in connection with which it will be significantly reconstructed. 3 matches of the Euro 2012 championship were played at the stadium. Now the arena is the home stadium of the Karpaty football club.
