Description of the sight
The Center for Contemporary Art and Culture named after Kuindzhi is located in the city of Mariupol, Donetsk region. The center was opened in 1962, while the city's artists asked leading artists to create an art gallery. Today, the art center's collection contains about 1,600 works of art, with 50 items added annually. For all existence, the center has created about 250 expositions. The program presents works of classical, modern and experimental style, as well as works of arts and crafts. Every year, the staff of the center prepares more than 100 exhibits, among which are objects of the genres of painting, jewelry, graphics, photography, sculpture and layout. The museum hosts many exhibitions that are held within the framework of regional, state or social programs.
