Description of the sight
The Odessa Philharmonic is one of the largest cultural centers of modern Ukraine, where the largest concerts of famous performers of various musical genres take place. In 1931, the Odessa Philharmonic and the Odessa Philharmonic Symphony Orchestra were founded simultaneously, with such great masters as Leonid Mogilevsky, A. Glazunov, A. Gauk, K. Ivanov as conductor. Since 1846, the Philharmonic has been located in the most beautiful building in the historical center of Odessa - the former New Merchant Exchange, built in 1899 in the Italian Gothic style. The Philharmonic Concert Hall is recognized as one of the best in Europe due to its beauty and excellent acoustic qualities. Currently, the Odessa Philharmonic Society hosts various cultural events that will undoubtedly be of interest to the widest range of viewers.
