Description of the sight
Hill of Glory - a memorial complex dedicated to the soldiers who died in the Great Patriotic War. The complex is popular with citizens and tourists, attracting visitors with picturesque places surrounding the hill and beautiful views of the countryside, which opens from the observation deck at the top of the hill. The place is also known as the Castle Hill, because there were the remains of an ancient settlement, a fortress and a church. All archaeological sites were destroyed during the construction of the memorial complex in 1977. The main element of the complex is the Motherland monument, holding a bowl with the Eternal Flame in her hand. Also part of the Hill of Glory is an alley with slabs on which the names of combatants are carved. At the top of the hill, next to the monument, there is an observation deck from which a vast panorama of the area opens.
