Description of the sight
The organ hall, formerly an Armenian church, is an architectural monument of the 19th century, a popular place for tourists and citizens. It is the church that has its own organ hall, which is used for chamber and classical music concerts. The church was built in 1875 and served as the spiritual center of the Armenians of the region. The building of the church combines details of the Gothic and Byzantine styles with elements of Armenian architecture. The plan of the church resembles a Latin cross, the central entrance is made with a trihedral ledge, and the facade is decorated with two bell towers. In Soviet times, the church was transferred to the Philharmonic and, thanks to its excellent acoustics, is still used as a concert hall. Visitors have the opportunity to see not only the original architectural solutions, but also enjoy the bewitching organ music.
