Description of the sight

The monument is dedicated to the main prey of local fishing industries - the Azov goby. At the base of the monument is attached a plaque that reads: "A bull - the breadwinner." The well-being of the entire Ukrainian Sea of Azov region truly rests on this small fish. Every day, hundreds of fishing schooners go out to fish for a goby, which is then served dried, dried and boiled at the table of numerous resort vacationers, thereby allowing thousands of Berdyansk families to live comfortably. However, this fish became a real salvation for the local population during the mass famine in Ukraine in the early 30s, as well as in the difficult post-war period.
