Description of the sight

The museum of the Hungarian artist M. Munkacsy (M. Lib) is located in the historical monument, the former Rakoczy Palace; now there is an art school named after M. Munkachi. The exposition of the museum is located in the hall of the school. Here you can get acquainted with copies of the artist's works and, also, there are copies of documents that tell about his creative and life path. Mihaly Munkácsy (1844-1900), Hungarian painter, founder of Hungarian romantic realism. The artist is the author of works: "Golgotha", "Christ before Pilate", landscapes "Secret Street", "Coming of the Hungarians to their homeland". He is also the author of the murals on the dome of the Vienna Historical Museum.
