Description of the sight

The Holy Intercession Church complex includes the Intercession Church, founded in 1993, and the Intercession Cathedral, erected in 2010. This magnificent building fits perfectly into the architectural ensemble of Obolon, one of the prestigious districts of Kyiv. It occupies 2.6 hectares of land in a picturesque location on the banks of the Dnieper. The magnificent facades of the temple are made in a harmonious combination of classical and baroque styles using new elements that are not inherent in the traditional areas of temple architecture. The main building of the temple is crowned with gilded domes mounted on elegant arched pavilions. The facade of the temple is generously decorated with relief columns and stucco details. Above the main entrance is a mosaic icon of the Intercession of the Mother of God with a total area of ​​122 square meters. The luxurious interior of the temple is striking in its splendor, including murals on the vaults and bright stained glass drawings. The modern iconostasis is made of marble and finished with intricate openwork carvings. All divine services in the temple are held under the wonderful chants of the church choir.
