Description of the sight
The temple was restored in an abandoned building No. 112, located near the First City Infectious Diseases Hospital, not far from the main gate of the Lower Lavra. In the hospital estate, next to the main building, there is a small building and a tower. Corps mid 19th century served as a warehouse for the printing house of the Lavra, and in 1881 was made sick. The tower project was approved in 1879. On May 13, 2010, the Primate of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church consecrated the domed cross for the restored hospital chapel in the name of St. Sergius of Radonezh. On October 13, 2011, with the blessing of His Beatitude Metropolitan Vladimir, the vicar of the Holy Dormition Kiev-Pechersk Lavra, Metropolitan Pavel of Vyshgorod and Chernobyl consecrated the hospital church in honor of St. Sergius, hegumen of Radonezh. His Eminence was assisted by Bishop Panteleimon of Vasilkovsky and the clergy of the monastery.
