Description of the sight
Dnepropetrovsk embankment is the longest embankment in Europe. Its total length is 30 kilometers. It is located on the right bank of the Dnieper. It is divided into 3 parts: Zavodskaya Embankment, Lenin Embankment and Victory Embankment. Throughout its length, the Dnepropetrovsk embankment crosses 23 streets. All master plans for the construction of the embankment, developed in early Soviet times, provided for the exit of the city to the Dnieper, but the implementation of the task occurred only in the post-war period. The construction of the embankment took place against the backdrop of a revision of attitudes towards ecology. The struggle for the preservation of the purity of water, air and land was a very important state task. On the embankment are the longest building - "Kitayka" (the house looks like the Great Wall of China) and the tallest buildings in the city - 28-storey twin towers, which offer a picturesque view of the city center.
