Description of the sight
Korzo Street is considered the trading heart of Uzhgorod. From Italian, this name translates as "street for walking." It was named so by the past owners of the city - the Neapolitan counts Drugeta. Only this street has preserved all the ancient buildings of Uzhgorod as much as possible. Korzo Street departs from Theater Square and consists almost entirely of cafes, shops and banks. The street is very narrow, built up on both sides with two or three-story houses, most of which are decorated with stucco. The intersection of Voloshin Street and Korzo Street is called the Cross. This is a favorite meeting place for citizens. One of the houses at the corner of this intersection, built at the end of the 19th century, was called the "White Ship".
