Route / how do i get there:
By car: There are three ways to go from Kyiv to the Caves: "Kyiv - Zhytomyr - Berdichev - Kalinovka - Vinnitsa - Nemirov". "Kyiv - Belaya Tserkov - Tetiev - Mikhailovka - Ilintsy - Nemirov". "Kyiv - Belaya Tserkov - Skvyra - Ruzhin - Kazatin - Vinnytsia - Nemirov". From Vinnitsa to Peshery 60 kilometers, go in the direction of Nemirov. By car from Odessa (distance - 395 kilometers) go along the route "Odessa - Uman - Gaisin - Nemirov". The P36 road passes through the Cave, which connects Nemyriv and Mogilev-Podolsky. From the turn in Nemirov to the Caves - 15 kilometers. By bus: From Kyiv, go by bus "Kyiv - Mogilev-Podolsky" (ask the driver to stop in the Cave), departure from the Central Bus Station (metro station "Demeevskaya") daily. You can get from Vinnitsa by buses that go in the direction of Mogilev-Podolsky or Petrashivka (from the Vinnitsa-1 bus station on Kievskaya Street, 8). To get to the estate, you need to turn in the Cave onto the road next to the river, which leads to the church, and then move about a kilometer towards the campsite and the cascade of river rapids. Or drive to the center of the village (to the monument to Shevchenko), and then on foot.
Description of the sight
The Pototskys were once a famous and influential family in Ukraine. They had estates and estates built with taste and luxury. The Pototsky estate is known in the Vinnitsa region in the village of Pechory. Unfortunately, the estate has lost its former beauty and grandeur - almost nothing has been preserved. A few outbuildings and a mausoleum-tomb remained. And the park on the banks of the Southern Bug still reminds that a rich family once lived here. The park was founded before the Pototskys began to live here. Its first owner was the Moldavian governor Duca. Nothing remains of the governor's estate. But the Pototskys expanded the park and began to build a new palace for themselves. Next to the park, a preserved chapel-mausoleum, neo-romanesque style of construction, was commissioned by the Pototskys. Currently, the church of St. Andrew is made in the chapel. Nothing remained of the Potocki Palace; in the 1920s it was dismantled and a hospital was built in its place. There are plans for a large renovation of the estate and turning it into a tourist center.
